It’s not all about us of course, and what we love most is when our guests come back all bright-eyed and excited about the great things they’ve done in the area.

Beautiful Beaches

Beaches are a big part of life here and we’re close to two of the loveliest. Belongil Beach is just a 9-minute drive away and the 2.5-kilometre strip of golden loveliness is the perfect place for a relaxing swim. There’s great snorkelling here too, including the chance to explore the SS Wollongbar.

Just a short distance from Belongil is Wategos Beach. This pretty crescent cove is made for chilled out family picnics and gentle swimming. You’ll find tracks to take you to the top of the cape, where you can admire the coastal views.

Explore from the Sea

To get a different perspective, why not take to the water? A day exploring the calm waters of Byron Bay marine park is a great way to get up close to local wildlife and experience the coast from another angle.

You may see our local pod of 300 pacific and common dolphins, as well as humpback whales and turtles.

Paddling through the calm waters of the Byron Bay marine park, look out for the local pod of 300 resident dolphins, including Pacific and common dolphins.

Fancy a beer?

When you fancy a change from the sea, it’s time to discover a bit more of what this fascinating area has to offer. We’re known for our great local produce, and that includes great beer, interesting gins and a host of flavoured spirits. There are various places that offer brewery tours where you can discover what goes into making your favourite brew. Your tour might include a tasting paddle too, so you can get a real feel for what makes Byron Bay tick.

Glorious Glow Worms

For something completely different, head out to Whian Whian State Conservation area. It’s just a 45-minute drive from The Park Hotel Motel but you’ll feel like you’re in another world. You can swim at a stunning waterfall, before taking a trip to discover the glow worms. There are great facilities here too, so it’s ideal for all the family to enjoy.

Soothe Your Spiritual Side

Holidays can be a bit of a non-stop round of seeing and doing, especially somewhere as fascinating as Suffolk Park. It’s worth making time to step away from the sightseeing and adrenaline hunting though, and a visit to Crystal Castle and Shambhala Gardens might just be the way to do it. This magical place is home to two of the tallest crystals anywhere on earth, as well as an amethyst cave and peaceful gardens. This beautiful space is an oasis of tranquillity and a perfect way to spend a day during your time with us at The Park Hotel Motel.
